Recycle Week, June 22nd - June 28th 2009

Recycle Week is 5 years old this year, and to celebrate Ecoplastic's commitment to creating a better environment, we're spreading the word about events and pledges given by you, our customers, which aim to highlight the importance of recycling and create new habits in sustainable waste management.

In the past 5 years a lot of progress has been made in attitudes to recycling:

• Two-thirds of UK citizens now consider themselves committed recyclers.
• We are currently recycling 34% of our household waste across the UK.
• As a result, we've saved over 30 million tonnes of CO2 - equivalent to taking a third of our cars off the UK roads for a year!

Something as simple as collecting tin cans at your office, filling your blue bin or promising to visit your local recycling centre with all your glass this weekend can make a real difference.
